Maddy Jane is a rising local Tasmanian artist producing an honest, indie/pop/rock stream of music. With relatable lyrics, curious, ironic ideas and catchy hooks pulled from an Australian music background, you'll hear influences such as Paul Kelly, Little Birdy and Courtney Barnett in her style, with a modern and original take and a lot o' soul.
Maddy Jane has played solo around hobart for 6 years and with her band, 'Maddy Jane and the Jane's' for a year. She has supported Monique Brumby, Chase City, Jed Appleton, Bad Pony (NSW), Luke Thompson, The Mornings and many more, now being recognised as a regular fixture in the Tasmanian music scene and headlining many shows in Hobart's top music venues. Maddy Jane was also the Hobart local 'Legend Hunt winners,' for Party in the Paddock 2016, where Maddy Jane and the Jane's got the opportunity to play on the main stage alongside bands such as The Preatures, British India, Violent Soho and many more.
Originally from Bruny Island, this year Maddy organised, ran and hosted her first independent festival on Bruny at her parents winery, The Bruny Bash. The event was originally to hopefully raise some funds for the completion of their E.P, but it showcased the best of the local hobart music scene, as well as a mainland act brought down from NSW. Bruny Island Premium Wines showcased their gourmet produce, sourced on the island and of course their hand made wine and cider! the event was a huge success, showing off the best of Tassie and Bruny, and will be running as an annual event.
Maddy Jane is preparing to release her new single, "Drown It Out," by August this year and is heading off on her first solo tour up the East Coast of Australia this May and June.
