After extensive touring of the UK and USA over the last few years, eclectic Tasmanian pop singer Simon Astley has returned home to release a catalouge of new music, including the recent singles Temptation and All Falls Down. Produced by Sam Panetta (Kylie Minogue, Crowded House).
Astley had recent success with his hit song London played as part of the Queens Diamond Jubilee in the UK. Due to the responsethe London song received, including over 225,000 views on youtube, Astley toured the UK for the second time playing shows around the country, including the famous Troubadour music venue in London where Adele and Ed Sheeran were discovered. Astley was approached and signed by UK record label Gotham Records whilst on tour, before heading back to Australia to record his album City Lights, with aria award winning singer Monique Brumby.
Astley toured the USA following his overseas success, and whilst in New York recorded his USA only released single Miracles Begun, with award winning producer Ray Balconis. On his return home he was lucky enough to land two big TV roles, an ad for popular USA chain Oogies Popcorn followed by an ad as the face of Carlton Draught on Australian TV.
Astley's latest apperances on the Marngrook Footy Show on SBS TV, 1700 Show on Channel 31, and his performance at Federation Square in Melbourne, has seen Astley gain more media attention in Australia and has helped boost his profile into a household name.
Astley has recently released his new single Sunlight through Australian record label Melodic Music. To promote the new release Astley toured the UK in April, with an appearance on the TV show 'The Late Show with Monica Price'.
