Soundscape: Producer Showcase and Masterclass with Akouo
Calling all electronic artists, producers, and musicians working with technology! Music Tasmania is proud to present a masterclass and showcase performance for electronic producers as part of this years Junction festival.
Featuring Launceston's very own beat maker extraordinaire Ryan Farrington, aka Akouo, this masterclass will help amplify your talents, tweak your skills, and teach you some practical production hacks. Participants are encouraged to bring their own music along for feedback and workshopping with the rest of the group.
Akouo has over 10 years of experience in the Australian electronic music scene, becoming the first ever Tasmanian-based act to play Splendour in the Grass back in 2015. His breakthrough EP ‘Mesa’ rocketed to #1 on the iTunes Electronic chats led by the highly acclaimed single ‘Not Enough’. His originals and remixes have cracked the Top 10 on Hype Machine 6 times and counting, with an extensive collection of official remixes for ZHU, Flume, Shy Girls, GANZ and many more.
Selected participants will also feature on the line-up for Soundscape on Saturday 10 September, along with local legends Akouo and Sumner. Soundscape is a celebration of Tasmanian electronic music in the heart of Launceston's Princes Square, and a chance to showcase the exciting homegrown producers making beats.
