Kate Miller-Heidke & Allison Bell: Singer-Songwriter Mentoring-Masterclass

ARE YOU A TASMANIAN SINGER-SONGWRITER AT THE START OF YOUR CAREER?

Tasmanian singer and voice teacher Allison Bell and the singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke want to find the State’s most talented artists for a day of mentoring and career development.

The Masterclass will take place on Saturday 6 March 2021 (COVID-restrictions pending) at the Old Mercury Building, Hobart.

Allison will focus on building and reinforcing a rock-solid vocal technique, regardless of musical genre, together with ways to develop the peak performance and resilience skills necessary to survive and thrive.

Kate will focus on developing the tools of songwriting and how each artist can nurture and express their own unique writing voice, as well as talk about potential next career steps, such as recording, networking and management.

The age range for this first mentoring-masterclass will be from 18 years, with no upper limit.

You must be a Tasmanian resident who does not currently identify as a professional musician. And if you have worked professionally as a singer-songwriter, if it was for less than 12 months, and it’s been more than 5 years since that happened, you are eligible to apply.

HOW TO APPLY
In the first instance, applicants should submit an mp3/mp4, or SoundCloud/YouTube etc link, performing an original - unedited - song. Send this, together with a short paragraph about yourself, to voice@detached.com.au by 13 December 2020.

Successful applicants will be notified by 8 January 2021.

Allison and Kate welcome artists from ALL genres - from pop and rock, to hip-hop and electronic music and everything in between.

Like Kate, if you defy genre, we welcome that too! We only ask that your voice be a feature of your songwriting.

THE MASTERCLASS IS FREE FOR PARTICIPANTS.
