Music development workshops
We've teamed up with The Rock Challenge to run three Launceston workshops that will feature touring artists and agents.
The workshops will provide industry advice from some of the best in the business to help support your music career.
The first workshop and speaker to kick-off this series is Max Stern, a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in Cleveland, USA.
Max has made a name for himself out the front of Signals Midwest, who’ve grown to become a mainstay on the US indie-punk scene over the last decade. From their promising debut, 2009’s Burn The Blueprints, to joining the Tiny Engines stable (The Hotelier, Cayetana, Tigers Jaw, Beach Slang), through to their accomplished fourth set, 2016’s At This Age, the band’s star is still on the rise.
Along the way they’ve shared stages with the likes of Piebald, Violent Soho, PUP, the Smith Street Band, the Flatliners, Beach Slang, Sorority Noise and more. Known for their emphatic, impassioned live show, sharp hooks and Stern’s nostalgia-soaked, reflective lyricism, Signals Midwest have also become a festival favourite, hitting Chicago’s Riot Fest, Montreal’s Pouzza Fest and Gainesville’s The Fest.
We're stoked that Max will share his experiences and musical journey while touring Launceston next month. The workshop will be facilitated by Brad Harbeck and run for approximately one hour, with space for open discussion and questions.
This is a great opportunity to connect and learn from music industry professionals.
