Music Tasmania and Vibestown coastal retreat for musicians

Music Tasmania has teamed up with our good mates Vibestown to present a summer retreat for musicians before Party in the Paddock kicks-off on 8 February.

Five musicians will be selected to participate in a 3-night retreat from 6-8 February on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania with Ali Barter and Oscar Dawson that explores songwriting, production, and performance.

Oscar Dawson is a composer, writer, and producer. Oscar plays in HOLY HOLY and produces artists such as Ali Barter, British India, Ben Wright Smith and Alex Lahey, amongst others.

Ali Barter is a singer-songwriter whose crafty lyrics and delicate harmonies have made songs like ‘Girlie Bits’ and ‘Please Stay’ radio faves!

Selected participants receive 3 nights shared accommodation at Bay of Fires Bush Retreats with transport and most meals provided, plus 1 free ticket to Party in the Paddock, where you will get an opportunity to perform as part of the festival.

To apply, complete the Expression of Interest.

Preference will be given to musicians from regional Tasmania for this opportunity.

Should you have any questions contact Laura Harper on 0418 545 002 or email

Expressions of Interest close Friday 19 January 2018 at midnight.

This project was made possible by the Australian Government's Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia.
